Cocos2D for iPhone 0.99 Beginner's Guide Preview

If you don't know, nearly a year ago I switched over to the Mac for one main reason -- iOS development. Forward seven months after the day I switched to the Mac, Alienz (yup, shameless plug) was released. It was hard learning game development on iOS; I've never publicly released any game before this and in fact, I wouldn't of been able to do it if it weren't for one amazing framework... Cocos2D.

Cocos2D takes all of that nasty OpenGL code right out of the picture with its rather easy to use Objective C-based API. Not only that, it's completely free and open source!

Packt Publishing very recently released Cocos2D for iPhone 0.99 Beginner's Guide. It's a book made for developers who are familiar with Objective C and object oriented programming (typically refereed to as OOP). The only thing I can say is that I wish this was released a year earlier; it would of been a huge help!

Packt Publishing once again gave me a copy of Cocos2D for iPhone 0.99 Beginner's Guide to review! I'm nearly one third of the through the book and I have to say, it's extremely useful for any iOS developer trying to get their hands messy with Cocos2D!

On a small sidenote, I really have to give a hand to Pablo Ruiz for writing this book! He did a wonderful job and as a programmer myself, I'm loving it!

Stay tuned for the full review on Cocos2D for iPhone 0.99 Beginner's Guide!

Stalk me on social media! Any other way would just be creepy…
